CONNECT YOUR DOMAIN

Squarespace,
one step at a time.

Use this guide together with your personal SiteRestyle connection card. Your records are prepared for your own domain, not copied from another site.

Need your exact DNS values? After payment, open your personal domain card on the same device. Copy its TXT record; do not guess a website IP or CNAME. The website routing records are supplied separately after the hosting connection is prepared.

Do this in Squarespace

  1. Open the Domains dashboard, choose your domain, then open DNS.
  2. Choose Add Record and select TXT. Enter the Host and Value shown on your personal card.
  3. Save. Return to SiteRestyle and check the TXT record. Do not remove the email record group.
  4. Later, edit only the A or CNAME records named in your separate web connection instructions. Former Google Domains accounts now use Squarespace Domains.

Before you call it connected

We check the root domain and www, HTTPS, redirects, images, important existing URLs and inquiry delivery. DNS propagation can take time. We also verify email dependencies before you cancel old hosting.

Keep these records safe

Preserve MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, mail-related hostnames and unrelated subdomains. Don’t remove all records or disable DNSSEC as a shortcut.
